5 Must Read Books For Writers

To paint, you first have to learn painting. To sculpt, you first have to learn sculpting. To write a website in PHP, you first have to learn PHP. The same way if you want to write copies (be it articles, blogs, press releases, website content, SMO content, etc.,) that invoke emotions, and make the reader do what you want him/her to do, you have to learn the ages-old craft of writing. There is no other way.

Reading great writers is probably the easiest and quickest way to learn this craft. So, here is a list of 5 books (which are my favourite as well) that a budding as well as a seasoned writer should  read and go.

1.

Woe Is I

It's my all time favourite. Whenever i am stuck in the middle of the grammar road, i seek refuge in this magnificent book. The book has been written in quite an interesting way, and is equally beneficial for new as well as old guys who make a living out of words.

Woe Is I - This Book Will Save You From Many Writing Sins

"Woe Is I" should be - and must be - on your writing desk. Why? Because it Grammar digestible. I've never seen such an interesting book on Grammar. And, it taught me a lot. I'm still a beginner, but I wish every writer - whether new, old, on in-between - can have access to this book that has been written so well.

Be it the age-old confusion over the right use of 'That and Which', or comma placement before 'such as' and 'like', you get all the answers here, in this book.
